Alexander Skobov

Alexander Skobov (1957) is a Russian dissident, left-wing journalist and publicist. He lives in Moscow. In 1970s he was together with his friends actively promoting socialism with a human face. He was expelled from his studies, in 1978 he was arrested after attempts to publish independent leftist magazine and to establish a komuna. He refused to emigrate, spent 3 years at psychic ward, in 1988 he was sentenced for anti-Soviet activities, however the trial was stopped in 1989. He published a book about Russian history and taught history at high school.
